Ludlow Hockey Club thrash Aston University 24-0 in Ener-G West Midlands League Division One

PROMOTED Ludlow taught Aston University a harsh lesson - slaughtering the students 24-0 in an Ener-G West Midlands League Division One rout.
James Pratt bagged five goals for Ludlow, Gavin Hughes and Andrew Richard each scored four, while Matt Blount and Matt Hall both hit hat-tricks.
Adam Aspbury, Brendon Pratt, Vijay Chumber, Anthony Nobbs and Stuart Richards also netted in the carnage.
Teenage goalkeeper Malachi Davenport-Smith made some good saves in Ludlow 2nd’s 6-0 defeat at a strong West Bromwich in 2nd XI Division Two.
Joe Collins had a shot well saved but the hosts were quick to pin back the young Ludlow side.
Tom Crump and Joe Haywood were on target for Ludlow 3rd in a 3-1 home win over Bloxwich in the West Midlands North Fathom League.
Chris Beaumont took the man-of-the-match honours for his all-round game and leadership skills.
Jack Pritchard, Graham Hutchinson and Kevin Blount worked hard but Ludlow Under-15 Badgers went down 8-0 at Leominster.
And Ludlow’s women’s team had a disappointing afternoon, losing 3-0 at Stourport 3rd in the Worcestershire League Division One.
