ALEX Bright snapped up four goals as Tenbury Town roared to a record win which should send a warning to their promotion rivals.

Ashley Botwood also scored a hat-trick as Town demolished Ross in a one-sided affair at Palmer’s Meadow to remain second in Herefordshire League Division Three.

“Ross came to us struggling to get a team together and they suffered badly,” said Town manager Darren Worthington, whose side led 8- 0 at the interval.

“We are going into each match looking to take points because all of the players and I want to move up a division.

“This was the biggest win in the club’s history.”

Bright hit a first-half hat-trick and added a fourth after the interval to take his tally to 18 goals for the season.

Botwood’s treble included a penalty.

Matt Clifford and Mark Boucker each bagged a brace, while Chris Patton, Jack Far rar, Alex Lombardi and Ian Patterson also netted in Town’s rout.

Town’s only blip was a late mistake from Roger Dovey, which allowed Ross to bag a consolation.

Town travel to Kington Town Reserves in the league this Saturday and Worthington is in a confident mood.

“We have a strong side who are competing for starting places and they are up for challenges that lie ahead,” said Worthington.

“We have a much younger side than last season and the work-rate on the training ground has improved our results.”
