A FOUR-goal salvo from Toby Gittens fired Athletic to a comfortable win over the bottom club in Division One North of the Jewson Herefordshire Sunday League.

Daniel Jara bagged a brace for Athletic, who are now seventh in the table and host Rose and Crown at Palmer’s Meadow this Sunday.

“Although the scoreline was convincing, we didn’t play brilliantly,” conceded Gittens, whose side led 3-1 at the interval.

Jara headed in the opener from Gittens’ free-kick and Gittens scored their second from the penalty spot.

Lichfield reduced arrears but Gittens’ volley restored Athletic’s twogoal cushion after Sam Taylor’s flick.

Athletic romped home in the second period, with two further goals from Gittens, a strike from Jara and an own goal.
