Chris Waldron hails Orleton Colts Reserves' six-appeal after thrashing rivals Leintwardine Colts in Herefordshire League Division Three

PLAYER-manager Chris Waldron praised his hard-working Orleton side after they hit Leintwardine for six in the Herefordshire League Division Three derby.

Nathan Coles and Ben James bagged braces for Orleton, while Jess James and Toby Siveter also netted.

Waldron said: “It was a great performance from the lads because we got off to a great start when we scored with our first attack.”

He added: “Coles scored the best goal of the game, controlling the ball on his chest and volleying in from edge of the box.

“The team worked hard for each other and deserved their victory.

“The scoreline didn't flatter us - it probably should have been a lot more.”

Chris ‘Cyril’ Martin scored both goals for Leintwardine, whose manager Chris Shurmer bemoaned not having a regular goalkeeper.

“Orleton played well but we were not helped by not having our normal goalkeeper,” said Shurmer.

“We didn’t give in and battled hard but our spirit was broken by every goal that Orleton scored.”

Tenbury Colts crashed 6- 1 at Kington Reserves, also in Division Three.
