Woofferton 5 Ross Juniors 2
WOOFFERTON’S main aim is to preserve their Herefordshire League Division One status.
That’s the message from club secretary Dave ‘Magnum’ Thomas after Woofferton reached the Herefordshire League Jock Handley Cup semi-final.
“We have won three matches in a row and that’s been the first time for quite a while,”said Thomas.
“It was an unbelievable win against Ross and we now have a must-win game this Saturday in the league.”
Woofferton host Hinton Reserves in a crucial Division One match this weekend.
Ross took the lead in last Saturday’s secondround tie but Dave Nash levelled and Craig Powers put Woofferton 2-1 ahead.
Simon Bradley, Nathan Scott and Josh Partridge then completed the demolition for the hosts.
“We are through to the semi-finals and will now play Ledbury Town Reserves away,”
said Thomas, who was solid at centre-back.
“If we can all pull together, we can beat any team in this league.”
Meanwhile, goals from Curtis Howell, Chris Breakwell, Dan Finlay and Jake Collett fired Woofferton Colts to a 4-0 success over Fownhope Reserves in Division Two.
