JACK Seymour was Clee Hill’s two-goal hero but manager Wayne Whitbread wasn’t happy with his team’s display.
“We were 3-0 up at half-time and we should have bagged a lot more goals,” said Whitbread.
“Last season I would have been over the moon after beating a team 4-2.
“But we have set a standard for ourselves and I felt Saturday was a backward step.
“Even in victory you have to challenge yourself and you can’t be complacent. We might have won but we are far from the finished article.”
Hill hired the 3G surface at Ludlow’s SBS Stadium because their own pitch was frozen for the Mercian League Division One fixture.
Seymour bagged the first two goals for Hill before Adam Warren finished off a sweeping move involving James Clifford and Scott Jordan.
Basement boys Wrockwardine pulled a goal back and then Clifford hit Hill’s fourth, pouncing after Warren’s shot had been parried.
Whitbread said: “We left ourselves down in the second-half.
“But I can’t understand why Wrockwardine are where they are at the bottom.”
Hill travel to Oswestry BG Club in the league this Saturday.
“The players have pick up their performance because we are now going up to play the next group of teams in the table,” said Whitbread.
