Ludlow Golf Club's Dave and Ruth Ball crowned Turkey Competition winners

DAVE and Ruth Ball have been crowned the Turkey Competition winners at Ludlow Golf Club.

The couple were guests of honour and lifted the mixed section’s popular trophy at the club’s much-awaited Grand Turkey dinner.

Club captain Russell Simm presented the prizes to the pair, who defeated Ali and Ray Reynolds in a tense final on the 19th hole.

The entertainment included a game run by Edna Spanner and jokes and stories from the Turkey Trotters, a troupe of members including Fran Sanders, John Linehan, Jacki Corbett, Don Brooks and Joe and Brenda Patrick.

Ladies’ captain Margaret Harris also delivered odes to the audience.

Organiser Kim Simm said 22 couples had taken part in the tournament which included five qualifying rounds of mixed foursomes stableford.
