LUDLOW Hockey Club surrendered top spot in the ENER-G West Midlands League Division Two table after conceding a last-gasp goal in a 3-2 defeat at West Bromwich.
Ludlow trailed 2-0 at the break before hitting back to draw level with two superb individual goals from stand-in skipper James Pratt.
The visitors missed several chances to win the game before West Brom took advantage of a defensive error to hit the winner with one minute remaining.
Ludlow were without skipper Stuart Richards and vice-captain Vijay Chumber but their squad included youngsters Jake Watts and Sam Pratt.
Meanwhile, women wanting to take part in hockey are invited to outdoor sessions at Moor Park School, starting next Monday (February 25).

The weekly sessions will run until March 25 and then resume after the Easter holidays on April 15. The last session is on April 29.
