GOALS in either half from Matt Hall and Gareth Hughes led table-topping Ludlow Hockey Club to a 2-0 win at Pershore in ENER-G West Midlands League Division Two.
Goalkeeper Dave Hughes took the man-of-the-match plaudits for Ludlow. Hall’s strike put Ludlow 1-0 ahead at the break and Hughes finished off a short-corner to wrap up the points.
Josh Rowson shone in Ludlow’s defence.
Ludlow 2nd conceded a goal after just 35 seconds in a 5-2 defeat at Pershore 2nd in 2nd XI Division Two.
Pershore struck three goals in the first seven minutes before Lyam Hutchinson reduced arrears.
Ludlow trailed 4-1 at the interval and, although, Tim Machin notched a second goal in the second- half, the visitors lost 5-2.
Shaun Dajavs scored Ludlow 3rd’s goal in a 3-1 defeat against Aldridge and Walsall 5th.
Ollie Preece put in a tireless performance for Ludlow, while Barney Martin was strong and Charlie Lyth looked lively.
Amy Johnson bagged her maiden goal in Ludlow women’s 5-2 home defeat against leaders Worcester 2nd in Division One of the Worcestershire League.
Naomi Burgoyne also netted for Ludlow, while the impressive Zoe Morgan was voted the hosts’ star player.
