STEVE Farmer has joined the Professional Darts Corporation’s Nine-Dart Club.
The Train was among nine players who each received a silver pin badge at the PDC annual awards dinner at The Dorchester in London.
Farmer, who used to live at Oreton near Cleobury Mortimer, achieved his nine-dart finish in the Speedy Services UK Open Qualifier in Barnsley, south Yorkshire.
Farmer will be hoping for a better year after slipping to 87th in the ProTour Order of Merit in 2012.
He collected £3,600 from 22 events played and, in the main PDC Order of Merit, dropped from 36 down to 40 in the rankings.
Farmer lost to Jamie Lewis in the preliminary round of the UK Open - his only television event.
The darts player wasn’t high enough in the ProTour Order of Merit to be among the 16 qualifiers for last month’s Ladbrokes World Championship.
But, in 2011, Farmer reached the third round of the championship at London’s Alexandra Palace before losing to James Wade.
Farmer used to play in the Clee Hill Friday Night League and in the Cleobury League on a Tuesday.
His nickname, ‘The Train’, was given to him by a group of lads from the old Raven pub in Ludlow. He now lives in Telford.
