Henry McNab and Ffion Gilbert star for Ludlow Swimming Club at Tamworth

HENRY McNab and Ffion Gilbert raced to victories for Ludlow Swimming Club in the first round of the National Arena League at Tamworth.

Henry gave the club their opening win of the evening in the 100-metre breaststroke with a personal best of one minute 24.32 seconds.

And Ffion was the club’s second winner in the 100m butterfly with a personal best of 1.22.79.

Coach Annette Gilbert was delighted with Ludlow’s performances against Matlock, Cheadle, Lichfield, Tamworth and Ripley Rascals swimming clubs. She praised George, Jack Williams, Frazer Tudor, Craig Collier and Charlie Brown for their efforts.

“We had so many wonderful swims it is impossible to mention them all but Rebecca Morgan had some very good results,” said Gilbert.

She said the younger boys’ relay teams showed some promise. “Our open male swimmers were hard pushed due to injury but Henry McNab, Jack Corston and Edward Rosister did well and finished fourth in each relay event,” she said.
