Woman badly injured after being involved in a collision with a car in Tenbury

A woman has been seriously injured after she was involved in a collision with a car in Tenbury this morning.

The incident happened at about 9.40am in Market Street.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed several 999 calls and an ambulance, a paramedic responder and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were sent to the scene.

A spokeswoman said: “On arrival crews found a woman, in her 60s, who had reportedly been in collision with a car and was lying on the ground.

“The woman was fully assessed by the crews who found she had sustained a cut to her head, a suspected fractured arm and a serious injury to her leg. Working as a team, the ambulance crews immobilised her with a neck collar and spinal board, placed her arm in a splint to keep it supported and dressed a nasty wound on her leg before she was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, the major trauma centre, for further treatment.

“No one else was injured in the incident.”
