THE refurbishment of The Regal in Tenbury is good news for lovers of Gilbert and Sullivan in Ludlow.

With its usual venue closed until the summer, Tenbury Operatic Society is taking its spring show a few miles up the A49.

The Tenbury group will be performing an evening of the songs and music of Gilbert and Sullivan at Ludlow Methodist Church.

In the first half of the programme, the society is singing some of the best-loved Gilbert and Sullivan choruses while in the second half there is a semi-staged version of Trial by Jury.

The show is on Friday, March 30, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £7.50, including refreshments, and are available from the Methodist Church, the Visitor Information Centre and also by calling 01584 875430.
