THE Teme Bridge in Tenbury is open again.

It was just after 3pm on Friday, March 9 when the first vehicle for nine weeks passed over the historic bridge.

The reopening came a week ahead of schedule and too the town council by surprise.

It has been expected for about a week that the bridge would be open again ahead of schedule but Saturday had been the anticipated date.

But bunting to mark the completion of the main part of the work was being put up when traffic started to flow again.

Contractors will be finishing off the bridge for at least another three weeks but the traffic disruption is over.
