THE Trace and Place school and community art-based project, which has explored perceptions of local heritage and cultural diversity through drama, dance, music and media, concluded this weekend with a spectacular performance by the children who have been involved in the project.
The event took place at The Regal Cinema, Tenbury, when the children aged seven to 16 performed dance, drama and cultural drumming.
Caroline Palethorpe, project co-ordinator for Worcestershire County Council said: “This ambitious community and school project has exceeded all expectations.
The children have found the opportunity to explore their heritage fascinating and have learnt many facts about the community in which they live within the wider context of the UK and global world.
“They have also made new friends from other primary schools, which will support their transition into high school, and a number of children have expressed an interest in continuing to develop their skills in drama, music, dance and media.”
