EFFORTS by the League of Friends of Tenbury Hospital to support redevelopment plans were boosted when a host of cheques were handed over, including the one from Tenbury Fund-raising Group.

Chairman Jean Grosvenor received the money, which totalled more than £3,500.

Donations came from Aidan Bufton (£100) from quiz donations and selling items; Emma Beamand (£980) from donations by guests at her surprise birthday party; Peter Summers (£1,000) on behalf of local charity the Godson Trust; Tony Hobbis (£585), treasurer of Brimfield and Little Hereford Sports Club, which held an auction of promises and also donated a similar sum to St Michael’s Hospice.
