Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision between two vehicles travelling in opposite directions on the A456 near Mamble after which the woman driver of a silver Vauxhall Corsa was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The woman - who was driving towards Tenbury Wells - is today said to be ‘stable’, having been taken by air ambulance to the Accident & Emergency Department of Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
The collision, which also involved a blue Kia Magentis being driven by a man towards Clows Top, occurred at approximately 2.25pm yesterday (Wednesday).
The male driver and his woman passenger were also taken to the Worcester hospital. He was released after observation, but she was transferred to the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch with non-life-threatening injuries where she is ‘doing well and responding to treatment’.
No other vehicles were involved, but officers hope that there were other road-users in the area at the time who saw the incident, or either of the vehicles being driven shortly beforehand.
Anyone with information - and who has not already spoken to officers - is asked to call police on 0300 333 3000, quoting 379S/150409. Information can also be given, anonymously and free-of-charge, to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
