MOBILITY scooters for hire is one of the innovations for the biggest day of the year in the Tenbury programme of events.

Improving accessibility for the disabled will be just one of the facilities available when the annual Tenbury Countryside Show opens its gates on Saturday (August 5) at 9am.

The show is a mix of traditional farming activities with a long list of judging classes in the main ring combined with family fun.

It will play host to the 33rd National Show of Hereford Cattle and the National Ryeland Sheep Show.

There will be horse classes and show-jumping in the main ring as well as a Shetland Pony Grand National.

Monster trucks will be one of the many attractions as well as tractor pulling and the National Young Farmers' Clubs Tug of War finals.

A display of vintage vehicles and stationary engines will feature along with a display of exotic animals and birds of prey.

Crafts and arts will feature in a special marquee and there will be many trade stands and plenty of choice when it comes to food and drink.

To help provide something for all the family there is a programme of activities for children including a slide and face painting.

Visitors must keep their dogs at home as only support dogs such as guide dogs will be allowed into the showground.
