SINGERS from Tenbury have been raising their voices to help to save lives.

Following successful twice-yearly concerts, it is the custom of St Michael's Singers to present donations to local charities.

This year, following their popular ‘Christmas Crackers’ concert – their chosen charity was, the First Responders Scheme and a cheque for £300 was presented by Pat Mutton the chairman of the singers.

Community First Responders are teams of volunteers who are trained by the Ambulance Service to a nationally recognised level and provide lifesaving treatment to people in their local communities.

St Michaels Singers choir meets on Tuesday's at 7.30pm in St Michael's Village Hall, near Tenbury. Currently there are opportunities for new singers and anyone interested can phone Pat Mutton on 01584 819875.

They are currently preparing for the next summer concert which will be performed in St Michael's church in July. This year's ambitious work is Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle.
