I WAS extremely pleased to have been elected for a third year as Mayor of Tenbury.

Thank you to all my fellow councillors and council employees for their continued support. An especial thank you to Jayne for her patience and understanding as well as her support.

The Neighbourhood Plan is now well underway and two consultation events at the Pump Rooms have already taken place and a third is being held in Burford Village Hall tomorrow (Friday) between 3pm and 7pm.

If you didn’t manage to get to the Pump Rooms lase week please try and get to tomorrow’s consultation event. You views and ideas are vital to the process.

This Saturday sees the second year of the Tenbury Music Festival. Jayne and I went to last year’s festival and despite some very heavy rain early on in the day the whole event was incredible.

I wish the organisers well and hope the weather is better.

Sunday, June 26 sees the “Party in the Park” on Palmers Meadow. This free event has something for all and is well worthy of your support

Tenbury Town Council are pleased that we have the facilities to host these events in the town and we see first-hand just how hard the organisers work to make them such a success. My thanks to them.

On Saturday and Sunday, June 24 and 25 the Flood Advisory Service will be in Tenbury. This is a regional event and not just for Tenbury. I think that any businesses and residents whose properties are liable to flooding should certainly attend. Independent and informed advice as to how to protect you premises will be available.

Lastly you will have seen reports in this newspaper about concerns as to speeding in St Michael's. Tenbury Town Council are taking these concerns seriously and are continuing to work with Highways to address the situation.
