TENBURY has gone ‘Sports Relief’ mad and it has all been on a theme of water.
But ‘rowers’ at the town’s swimming pool and leisure centre did not get a drop of water anywhere near them at least until the after exercise shower.
They used a rowing machine to cover more than 60km in 12 hours.
But even more importantly raised more than £500 for the charity.
The ‘rowing’ was only the start of it because fund raisers also staged a ‘swimathon’ at the pool.
One of the organisers of the marathon row was Anni Langridge from BT who said that more than 50 people had taken turns to do stints on the machine.
As well as sponsorship there was also a chance to make donations and purchase homemade cakes for the cause.
