PUPILS at a school near Tenbury have been learning how to score top marks in the kitchen.

A top chef showed youngsters how to cook up a storm recently.

Adam Brown, who is an award-winning head chef at Brockencote Hall in Chaddeseley Corbett, talked to pupils at Abberley Hall School and showed them how to prepare one of his favourite dishes.

He gave the demonstration, using a haunch of venison, to the children and spoke to them about his life at the top of the cooking profession.

After a three-year apprenticeship with Hilton Hotels he worked with Gordon Ramsay in London at the first of Ramsay’s solo restaurants before being recruited by Michelin-starred restaurant Le Champignon Sauvage in Cheltenham.

He then joined the Eden Hotel group, leading the kitchen team at Brockencote for four years where he has gained three AA Rosettes for its outstanding cuisine.

“It was a really enjoyable event and formed part of our monthly debating and demonstration evenings which have covered such topics as diverse as rugby coaching and working as a top journalist,” said Nigel Richardson, deputy head at the school.
