THE buoyancy of the housing market in Tenbury is shown by the opening of a new estate agent in the town.

Mary Stone who has previous experience working in the property sector in the town has opened her own business.

She believes that there is a huge demand both for properties to buy and for rental in the Tenbury area.

Having gained knowledge and experience of the property sector in the area with another estate agent she has opened ‘Mary Stone’ properties.

But she says that she plans to do things slightly differently.

“The traditional way of operating is for the estate agent to take a percentage of the value of the sale,” said Mary Stone.

“I think that many people prefer greater transparency based upon a fixed fee irrespective of the price of the property.”

She believes that there is plenty of scope for further property development in the area with a ‘desperate’ need for new homes especially for first time buyers.
