PEOPLE living in Tenbury are being sought to take a lead in preparing a plan for the town in the coming years.

The Town Council is starting preparing the Neighbourhood Plan.

This will influence key decisions about developments including housing and business developments.

It is intended to be a ‘bottom up’ approach with members of the community shaping the key priorities.

Members of the Town Council were at the Apple Fest on The Burgage to make people aware of the plan and how they can get involved.

Tenbury Town Council has set up a Steering Group which currently consists only of councillors but they are now looking for volunteers to help with the process once formal structures are in place.

The first task will be to undertake a fact finding exercise which will involve consultation with residents and businesses via a series of meetings, workshops and drop in events.

Information obtained in this first part of the process is will tell the Steering Group how members of the community feel about the Town. This will include the good and the bad as well as an indication of preferences for future priorities.

After this a draft plan will be prepared that will go out for further consultation.
