CAROL Collier is a Tenbury businesswoman with a mission to be ‘tops for bottoms'.

The one-time administrator at the Tenbury Transport Trust has had a change of direction and opened ‘Smarty Pants’ in the town.

As the name suggests, the shop in Teme Court aims to provide the very best when it comes to underwear.

Her speciality will be knickers and pants from the everyday to the exotic.

But the shop is also about ‘tops and bottoms’ as Carol will also be stocking a large range of bras for women of all ages, shapes and sizes.

However, it will not only be underwear as ‘Smarty Pants’ will also be stocking blouses, skirts and trousers.

“We have some excellent suppliers from the UK and abroad including Italy,” said Carol.

“I think that there is a great opportunity to fill a gap in the market and provide something for the needs of people from teenagers to old age.

“My intention is to have something for that special occasion and also for everyday comfort.”

The shop will also stock a range of accessories and while women are expected to be the biggest customers there will also be something for men and children.

Carol who used to run a shop in the town believes that Tenbury will provide a good place from which to start a business.

With summer coming to its end, the move is for autumn and winter clothing and the business if hoping to benefit from the Christmas buying period that starts before long.

“I think it is good that there is a range of businesses in Tenbury so the town has something to bring most people to the town to shop,” she said.

“We have a fitting room in the shop and one of the things that I will be considering for the future is providing a fitting service.”
