MEMBERS of Tenbury Teme Valley Band will not in future have to worry about music blowing away or music stands falling over.

This follows a donation made to the band by Councillor Ken Pollock from his Divisional Fund as the member of Worcestershire County Council for Tenbury.

The band received £1,000 to cover the cost of new heavy duty nickel music stands together with carrying bags.

“The music stands arrived at just the right time for our busy 2015 schedule of engagements,” said John Mather, chairman of the Tenbury Teme Valley Band.

“We have recently been fortunate to have many new members, who will also benefit. We are extremely grateful to Mr Pollock for his generosity.”

Tenbury Teme Valley Band members will be using their new music stands at a charity concert ‘Music Through the Decades’ on Saturday, July 11, at 7 pm at the Regal Cinema.

Also performing will be the Tenbury Primary School Choir and the Got2sing choir.

All proceeds from the concert will be donated to three Tenbury charities: Tenbury NILS, Cafe 27 and Tenbury Age UK.

Tickets are available from the Regal Box Office.
