TENBURY has been selected as the start and finish line for a charity challenge called the Lawn Way Round.
The charity challenge sees three men embarking upon a journey of more than 2,200 miles around the coasts of England, Wales and Scotland on ride-on lawnmowers to raise money for Crohn's and Colitis UK.
Daz Whitehead, Tony Dwight and Paul Tindall will start their route on Saturday (July 10) and will return to the area for the finish line at St Michael’s Caravan Park on Friday July 17 travelling approximately 300 miles each day.
The challenge is sponsored by petrol lawnmower engine manufacturer Briggs and Stratton who, as well as providing new engines for the lawnmowers, will be providing a daily engine services from its dealers across the country while the Lawn Way Round team have a well-earned rest.
“This is a great idea. When we heard about the Lawn Way Round we thought it tied in brilliantly with our recent four Men Went To Mow project so were keen to be involved,” said Mark Kerr, area sales manager from Briggs and Stratton.
“It’s for a great cause so we’re delighted to be involved. We wish the Lawn Way Round team all the best for their journey back to Tenbury Wells.”
