POLICE took away a large quantity of cannabis after a drugs raid in Tenbury.

Officers from Leominster working with Malvern Hills Safer Neighbourhood Team seized a large quantity of the drug on Saturday (June 20).

The operation brought together a team of officers from South Worcestershire and Herefordshire policing areas, including a drugs search dog.

A search warrant, authorised by the local Magistrates Court under the 'Misuse of Drugs Act', was executed at 5pm on Saturday at an address on Bromyard Road.

Inside the address officers found and seized what has been described as a 'very large amount of cannabis skunk' along with phones and laptops. The cannabis itself was located in the kitchen of the property having been stored in a bucket.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B and has been bailed until August 19 to allow for further enquiries.

"It is our intention to keep Tenbury a safe place and seizing drugs of this type and in this quantity is an important part of that work,” said PC Sarah Ransome-Williams of the Tenbury Safer Neighbourhood Team.

"It was also a good opportunity to bring together the Leominster based patrol officers and my own local team on a single operation."
