A RIVERSIDE pub is linking Father’s Day with helping the West Midlands Search and Rescue Team.

The Temeside Inn at Little Hereford is holding a Father’s Day Event to raise money for the West Midlands Search and Rescue team on Sunday (June 21).

West Midlands Search and Rescue (WMSAR) is the official Lowland Rescue charity for Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire, and is part of the UK’s rescue backbone alongside the Mountain Rescue.

The team, made up entirely of volunteers, works with the Police, Fire and Ambulance services across the region to provide highly-trained, professional volunteers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The Fathers Day fun will start at 3pm with live music from the Animators, a barbecue, free cider tasting with Alison Chadwick and Geoff Thompson from nearby Oldfields Cider, and a bouncy castle for children.

Four crew members of the WMSAR team will also be there with their Land Rover and boat to give a static display in the pub garden right next to the River Teme.
