RECORDS were broken when the Adam Millichip Foundation held an annual golf day at Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club.

The Tenbury Wells based charity that provides financial support and assistance to disabled people wishing to participate in sports raised a record £9,500.

A record number of 232 golfers also played on the day to raise the funds.

All this made it one of the biggest charity golf days in the UK.

The foundation also presented its largest grant to date of £5,275 to Jane Barker who is group organiser for the Perry Riding for the Disabled Group in Baschurch near Shrewsbury.

This grant will allow the group to purchase a Fenix 4 wheeler carriage which will enable a large amount of people with varying disabilities to drive and ride horses including those in wheelchairs.

“The foundation would like to thank all individuals and companies who have helped us raise an amazing amount on the day, the amount raised will help change lives,” said Mark Benbow, a trustee of the charity.

Adam Millichip was a young man from Tenbury who died tragically in an accident at work.
