A CHARITY shop in Tenbury is appealing for both stock and volunteers.

Age UK in Market Street wants more items to sell and would also like to hear from people who can give some time to the charity as volunteers.

The Age UK store in Tenbury opened just months before the closure of the Teme Bridge but it has staged a number of themed events to promote awareness and interest.

It has also organised practical help for older people such as the testing of electric blankets in conjunction with the fire service.

Age UK was formed in 2009 when two charities Age Concern and Help the Aged decided to combine.

The charity not only runs shops throughout the country but also provides a range of help and advice to older people.

It has also been involved in running day care centres like the one in Burford that is to close in the summer although this has nothing to do with the shop in Tenbury.

Anyone who has stock for sale or would like to consider volunteering is asked to call into the shop in the town.
