THERE was a literary theme for Red Nose Day at the Tenbury High School Ormiston Academy.

Students and teachers entered into the spirit of Comic Relief but this year there was a bit of a twist.

In order to support Comic Relief and celebrate World Book Day, the two days were combined into one event.

Leading up to this, limericks and puns have been shared with the pupils daily to cultivate interest.

On the day itself teachers across the school shared extracts from their favourite books with a variety of different classes.

The school also held a non-uniform day, with donations of £1 per pupil going to Comic Relief.

A number of other fundraising activities took place throughout the day. Pupils baked and decorated cakes and these were on sale at break and lunch times and there was a staff versus students netball match.

The day culminated in a quiz.

This was the next chapter in a successful house competition following a popular and competitive World Book Day quiz.
