A SPECIAL effort is being made to get children and older people in the swim at Tenbury Pool.

Children under eight and people over 75 in Tenbury have an opportunity to swim for free at Tenbury Swimming Pool as part of a new initiative by Freedom Leisure.

The free swimming programme started when the not-for-profit trust took over management of the facility in partnership with Tenbury Community Pool Limited (TCP).

Members and non-members are eligible to register. People simply need to register once, pay a £10 registration fee (£5 for concessions), and then they can swim for free at all public swimming times, as often as they wish.

“Swimming is a great form of exercise and is an excellent activity for people of all ages and abilities,” says Darryl Keech, Freedom Leisure area manager.

“By offering free access to under 8s and over 75s, we hope to encourage more youngsters and older adults in Tenbury to make a healthy habit of swimming several times a week.”
