THE first of the annual Tenbury Mistletoe Sales has taken place at its new venue Burford House Gardens.

Buyers from all over the country come to the sales that take place on the final Tuesday in November and the first two Tuesdays in December.

Tenbury and the Teme Valley is one of the most important areas of the country for mistletoe.

In recent years the sales have been held on the Tenbury Business Park but it was considered that the move to Burford House Gardens would be a more appropriate rural setting.

Mistletoe is a parasite that grows on host trees and is associated with Christmas, fertility and is part of Druidic mythology.
