Bid to keep Saturday TIC hours
THE prospect of Tenbury's Tourism Information Centre closing at 2pm instead of 4pm on a Saturday has come under fire.
But the chairman of Tenbury Tourism Partnership Committee, which runs the centre, has described such a move as a temporary measure and was hoping that it will be open until 4pm this Saturday.
Bernard Morgan, thanking long-serving volunteer Bill Austin who was stepping down, said: "The opening hours are 10am to 4pm on a Saturday and that it what we are hoping to stick to."
Among those to criticise any proposal to shorten the hours of opening had been Chamber of Trade president Sadie Chalkley and Tenbury restaurateur Paul Smith, of Kus Kus.
