THE future of domestic waste recycling and refuse collection in Tenbury and the Malvern Hills area has come under the spotlight.
District councillors met for a workshop to consider and evaluate options and priorities.
They received a presentation from councillors David Watkins and David Hughes on recycling targets and reducing waste to landfill.
A study, Managing Waste for a Better Environment, stressed the need for this to be a joint effort with other council's in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
The findings were endorsed and will be taken forward through the council's decision-making process.
Councillor Watkins, environmental control portfolio holder, said: "The need to increase recycling and reduce the amount of waste going to land-fill is one of the biggest challenges we face."
