A CONTROVERSIAL £100m project which could see the creation of more than 2,500 jobs is up before councillors next week.

The Redditch Eastern Gateway development could be sited east of Redditch at the junction of the A4023 and A435 and close to Ravensbank Business Park.

The potential 75-acre site could see the creation of up to 2,500 jobs and almost one million square feet of new office and industrial space.

However, residents living close by in Winyates Green, have raised concerns relating to traffic, noise and building works of having such a large development in their neighbourhood as well as the overall impact if it's built.

Bromsgrove Council planning committee is set to decide whether to approve the project next Monday, December 4.

However, because the development is cross-boundary, with the site falling in Bromsgrove, Redditch, and Stratford districts, an identical application has been submitted to each local authority.

Each application has to go to each of the planning committees for determination.

Stratford-on-Avon District Council will decide on December 6 while Redditch Borough Council will decide on December 13.

The scheme must gain approval from all three councils to be given full permission.
