REMEMBER, remember the 2nd of November... as the council’s annual Firework Spectacular returns to Redditch.

The event will be at the usual venue Arrow Valley Country Park on Thursday, November 2 and will start with a funfair at 6pm followed by roadshow entertainment from local acts from 6.30pm.

At 7.30pm the firework display will begin before the evening is finished off with more entertainment.

Councillor Pat Witherspoon, whose portfolio covers leisure services, said: “The clocks will be going back next weekend which means darker evenings and the perfect seasonal backdrop for the most spectacular event of the year.

"Grab your gloves, hat and scarf and get ready for a free, fun and family friendly firework spectacular to enjoy – whatever the weather.”

Admission to the Firework Spectacular is free but there will also be food concession stands and Wilson’s fun fair which charge.

There will also be disabled parking at the Battens Drive entrance and a free park and ride service so visitors don’t need to worry about where to leave their cars.

The park and ride operated by Diamond will run from Moons Moat Drive near the event parking on Merse Road from 5.45pm.

A bus will then depart every 15 minutes until the last pick up in time for the fireworks display which departs 7pm.

Return trips start at 8.15pm and run every 15 minutes until the last bus at 9.15pm.

This year the drop off point will be at the underpass on Paper Mill Drive, a short walk from the event.

A small section of road on Battens Drive will be closed in both directions for a distance of approximately 311 metres from its junction with Hopyard Lane to its junction with Padgets Lane between 6pm and 9pm.
