SIX members of Redditch's the Thomas family recently took the plunge to raise funds for Primrose Hospice.

Ben, Ceri, Ellie, Joanne, Sheryl and Tilly, joined by Alex Allcott and and Ann Gameson together raised an incredible total of £6,970.

The family owned funeral directors, Thomas Brothers from Redditch, decided to take up the challenge of the sponsored 10,000 feet freefall parachute jump harnessed to a professional instructor, freefalling at a speed of 120 mph.

The jump took place at Redlands airfield near Swindon, all with the aim of raising much needed funds for Primrose Hospice.

“The whole experience was a thrill none of us will ever forget," said Alex Allcott of Thomas Brothers.

"We would definitely recommend parachuting for Primrose to anyone with a sense of adventure."

Anne Snell, from the hospice, said: "We were really excited that the group of adventurous skydivers from Thomas Brothers took up this thrilling challenge.

"All the services of the hospice are provided free to people at a time in their lives when they need it most and without the support of people taking up challenges like this and raising vital funds, the hospice would not be able to carry out its crucial work."
