TEXTILE design students at Pershore High School partnered with Oxfam to complete an upcycling project as part of their AS level portfolio.

Each student selected one or two items from Oxfam Pershore shop’s unsold stock and had four hours in which to create a new garment.

The new items were unveiled to members of the shop team last week and will be on display in the shop later in the summer to inspire others to get upcycling and participate in a Great Pershore Sewing Bee.

Sandy Poulton, assistant head of technology, said: "This suggestion fitted perfectly with the plans for the course and the students took to the task with gusto.

"The products created are both original and environmentally friendly and we even managed to raise some money for Oxfam."

At the same time the students presented a donation to Oxfam’s Nepal appeal.
