DEDICATED fundraisers took on a gruelling challenge in Wyre Forest to raise thousands for Midlands Air Ambulance.
Walkers and runners from across Worcestershire descended on Rock, near Bewdley, for the ‘Pound the Bounds’ Walk4Life challenge earlier this month.
And, despite temperatures reaching 24 degrees Celsius during the event, their efforts saw them raise a total of £9,376.04 for the lifesaving charity.
People of all ages took part in the day which featured a 26-mile hike as well as a small treasure trail.
Michelle McCracken, Worcestershire fundraising manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “Every year, we have so many participants raising a fantastic amount of money, and this year was no different.
“Despite the heat, families still came out to enjoy a walk in the beautiful countryside in Rock, and raise some funds for the charity, which we couldn’t be more grateful for.
“So many local business also get involved, sponsoring the event and providing support through the day.
“Each Midlands Air Ambulance Charity mission costs £2,500, so we’re so pleased that the day was such a success.”
