GRATEFUL students from Kidderminster College are holding a fundraiser to support a charity which helped save the life of their stricken classmate.
A fayre will be held in the college foyer at the main campus in Market Street on Wednesday, June 13 from 10am to 4pm with proceeds being donated to West Midlands Air Ambulance.
It has been organised by young people on the Level 3 Technical Diploma in Childcare and Education course who wanted to thank the service for coming to the aid of their friend and fellow student Sophie Price.
Sophie, aged 18, suffered serious injuries in a car crash in March and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
At the event next month, there will be a number of activities and stalls including a raffle, hook-a-duck, name the teddy and cakes, popcorn and sweets on sale.
The college is also issuing an appeal to businesses to donate prizes to go towards the raffle.
A spokesman for Kidderminster College said: “Without the assistance of the air ambulance service, Sophie would not be alive today.
“The students would like to hold a fayre on behalf of Sophie to raise a significant amount of money for the air ambulance service, which Sophie will then be able to present to the crew that helped save her life.”
Anyone who can support the event with raffle prizes can contact Claire Foster in the college’s Learner Services on 01562 820811.
