MORE than eight out of 10 people who live in Worcestershire say the county is a good place to live, according to a survey.

Around 3,000 people from Bromsgrove and the wider area took part in the annual Viewpoint Resident's survey in June and July this year.

Early results, which will be published in full later this autumn, showed that just over 80 per cent of those asked were satisfied with their local area.

Cllr Karen May, county cabinet member and district representative for Perryfields, said: "I am one of those eight of ten people who think that this county is a great place to live. We are so lucky. We have a fantastic environment, a great quality of life and we are living in one of the fastest growing economies in the country.

"As a council, we shape our decisions around what our residents tell us are most important to them. The Viewpoint Survey is one way that we encourage residents to feedback to us and influence those decisions that we make."

The survey also highlighted a feeling of connection within communities, with more than 70 per cent saying they felt a sense of belonging to their area.

Bromsgrove residents aged 18 and over can sign up to be part of the Viewpoint panel at worcestershire.gov.uk/viewpoint.
