Fairytales can come true - as a teenage Stourbridge ballet dancer is finding out after landing a role in a Cinderella production.

Abbie O'Hare, 15, has landed a part in the Cinderella in Hollywood ballet in Shrewsbury next month.

The Stourbridge Dance Academy starlet came through a huge English Youth Ballet (EYB) audition earlier this year.

Abbie, a pupil at King Edward VI Five Ways in Birmingham, will appear in the show at the Theatre Seven on June 22 and 23.

Proud mum Deborah said: "Abbie has been dancing for 12 years now, she started when she was just three years old.

"As she's got older, her passion for dancing has grown and grown, and we are very proud of her.

"Three years ago, she did Swan Lake with with the EYB and this is going to be another really good experience for her."

The young cast will rehearse for just 11 days under the production, under the guidance of Brazilian principal dancer Samantha Camejo, who dances the lead role of Cinderella.

Samantha said: "The young dancers are treated just like the professionals in the rehearsals with EYB.

"They discover what having a dance career might be like - both in the studio and on the stage. It is an amazing experience for them."
