PROGRESS is being made in an initiative to turn Ludlow into a ‘dementia friendly’ town.
There have been a series of meeting involving individuals, health carers, volunteers and businesses.
Part of the work includes training courses run in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Society to make people more aware of the needs of those with dementia.
Vivienne Parry, Shropshire Councillor for Ludlow South, has been heading the initiative which she says in necessary as a response to the high number of older people in Ludlow. She estimates that there are up to 500 people with a dementia diagnosis in the town.
