A VILLAGE Church will be decked out in homage to the symbol of Christmas for many people.
In Caynham, preparations are well underway for the sixth annual Christmas Tree Festival, at St Mary’s Church. This year the theme of the festival is ‘Pantomimes.’
Trees will be dressed in different styles and visitors will then have the opportunity to see them in the ancient church.
By tradition natural Christmas trees are evergreens, pine spruce or fir.
On Saturday and Sunday, December 2 and 3, the Church will be open from 10 am till 4 pm. Entry is free. There will be hot drinks, mince pies and cake available, as well as a Christmas stall, a raffle and tombola.
As has become a tradition there will be a concert on the Saturday evening, starting at 7.30 pm, given this year by The Little Hereford Voices Choir.
There will also be a Christingle Service in the church as darkness starts to fall at 3pm on Sunday, December 3.
Tickets: adults, £6, children, £3.
