A PRIMARY school near Leominster has been rated outstanding as a church school.

Ivington CofE Primary and Pre-school was visited by Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) inspectors to evaluate the distinctiveness and effectiveness of the school as a church school.

The report said the school is a "safe, caring, Christian school" which "fulfils its mission statement by enabling pupils of all abilities and needs to achieve well."

The children's behaviour was described as "excellent" and said "pupils show the utmost consideration, respect and courteousness."

The report said that parents choose to send their children to Ivington school because of the importance placed on the values of respect, kindness, and tolerance.

When asked what difference attending Ivington School makes, parents said: "An amazing difference, they feel accepted, understood and happy to go to school."

The school was last inspected by Ofsted in 2015 and inspectors rated it as good.
