SNOW has been forecast for the county this Friday.

The Met Office has released a yellow warning of snow and ice between 00.05am on Friday morning and 6pm on Saturday.

The yellow warning is to the west of Herefordshire. At the moment it looks as if snow will miss Hereford but potentially affect the county to the west, northwest and southwest of the city.

The Met Office said snow showers are expected to become increasingly frequent over northern Scotland late on Thursday and are expected across many other parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and western England on Friday.

Two to five centimetres of snow is likely for some, with 10 to 20 centimetres possible over high ground, mainly Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

Icy surfaces are also likely to be an additional hazard, especially overnight.
