POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal incident which saw a man drive into a tree last night.
The crash happened on the B4352 between Bredwardine to Merbach, near Hay on Wye at 9.05pm.
The Renault Clio, which had been travelling towards Hereford, left the road before colliding with a tree.
The driver, a man in his 50s, was taken to Hereford County Hospital where he sadly died.
Formal identification is due to take place and next of kin have been notified.
A police spokesman said: “Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, or anybody who saw the manner in which either vehicle was being driving prior to the collision to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 772s of 17 October 2017.”
