A 12-YEAR-OLD girl from Bromsgrove has donated her hair to sick children in honour of her mum who beat thyroid cancer three years ago.
Alvechurch Middle School student Libby Barton had already held cake stalls and bring-and-buy sales to raise money for cancer charities when she decided she would donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust.
Mum Kelly said: “Three years ago I had cancer and since then Libby has been my little rock of support.
“So when she approached me saying she wanted to do something I was overwhelmed. She wanted to donate her hair to children with cancer.
“I thought nothing of it putting her photos on Facebook to show our family and friends all over the UK, only to find people had started donating and showing comments of support for what Libby had done. The donations are still coming in after a week.
“The whole thing has truly been amazing and proud is such an understatement.”
